Volunteer Job Description

Thank you for your interest in volunteering with the ASTRO Foundation!

 

Title: Cattery Caretaker

​

Objective: Help to maintain a safe, sanitary and positive environment for the cats and kittens housed at the ASTRO Foundation Adoption Center: 157 N. Fifth Avenue, Oakdale, CA. 95361.

​

Possible Duties:

• Feeding.
• Cleaning enclosures.
• Washing dishes and litter boxes.
• Help with laundry, sweeping and mopping. • Administer medications as needed.

​

Training:

• Attend volunteer orientation.
• Attend hands-on training session with an ASTRO Foundation representative.

Commitment: Minimum of one, two hour shift per week at the ASTRO Foundation Adoption Center. Shifts available seven days a week from 9:00am - 12:00pm.

​

Requirements:

• Follow detailed operating procedures.
• Ability to lift twenty pounds or more.
• Recognize abnormalities in animal health and behavior. • Interact with animals safely.
